in Ancient in times it is believed that the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians would use the Hopi Ear Candling for spiritual purposes, to cleanse and purify the aura.
The technique used today is believed to come from native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona. Hopi means "Peaceful People" which is representative of the peaceful and calming therapy; Hopi Ear Candling.
Hopi ear candles are made up of a hollow tube of unbleached cotton which is coated in natural ingredients such as bees wax, herbs and honey, which, when placed in the ear, the lit candle gently burns down creating a vacuum effect, like a chimney. the vapours from the candle then soothe and rebalance the inner ear whilst the flickering flame gently creates a vibration to massage the ear.
Each candle, one for each ear, taken in turn takes a bout 10 to 15 minutes to burn down. The experience is much like listening to a soft fire crackling giving a pleasant feeling of warmth in the ear which can feel deeply relaxing.
